Notes on Other Stores
A franchise restaurant opened in Gulf City Mall opened in 1982, however in 2003 the franchise agreement was terminated.
In 1984 another franchise restaurant was opened in south Trinidad, this time in Marabella. This restaurant was closed shortly after due to poor sales.
In 1995 a store was opened on the Diego Martin Main Road and was closed in 1998 as this store was unprofitable.
In 2000 a franchise store was opened in St. James and due to the accessibility and parking problems of the location, this restaurant failed, and was closed in 2002.
In 1976 a store was opened on Phillip Street in Port of Spain and was closed in 1985 as management thought it was too close and therefore cannibalised sales of our Cipriani Boulevard Restaurant. This location then became the heart and soul of the Mario’s Operation as it housed the Head Office, Warehouse and the Central Kitchen were everything was prepared for sale at the restaurants.
In 2000 we relocated our Warehouse, Head Office and Central Kitchen as we were in dyer need of more space due to our continued expansion. It is now located at L.P. #80 El Socorro Extension Road, El Socorro.
When the Alyce Glen location was first opened it was franchised out. In 2001 Mario’s repurchased this location as it was performing very poorly. When Mario’s took over the management of it, sales picked up considerably and it is now profitable.
Trincity also opened as a franchise, but in 1999 the franchise owners were migrating and Mario’s repurchased the franchise. Then in 2003 the Restaurant was relocated into the new wing of Trincity Mall, City Pulse.
