On Thursday 19th May Mario’s launched our creative writing competition targeting kids 9-12 years old, at Mario’s St Augustine. The competition encourages imaginative and creative writing and aims to reintroduce the art of story writing & storytelling to children.
Five Primary Schools attended the launch where kids were engaged in various stimulating games, hosted by published local author Vanessa Salazar. Kids were also encouraged to write their own short stories and participate in the competition. The competition builds on the momentum established through school storytelling visits conducted in 2015 where Mario’s, along with Ms. Salazar visited schools in several rural communities and conducted storytelling activities.
The winning creative writing entry will receive a Mario’s Birthday Party for the winner and his/her friends, among other courtesies.
The competition is open to eligible children across T&T, including children of Mario’s staff (excluding Mario’s Marketing Department). To enter simply download and complete the entry form and submit the entry form along with your short story on ‘The Day I Discovered My Superhero Powers’ to any Mario’s location in the boxes provided or email to email@example.com.
Submissions close 17th June 2016.
